Johnny Foreigner – Clwb Ifor Bach – 6th Feb 2010

Johnny Foreigner - Clwb Ifor Bach

Johnny Foreigner - Clwb Ifor Bach

If you’ve been keeping up, you may have noted I have had no internet, hense rendering my rather hardworking computer rather obsolete so I have taken to drawing a little more… in an effort to make my work a little more individual. The quality of this was lost as I had no scanner so had to photograph and edit in illustrator, hopefully, with a good chance I’ll be able to get it scanned in cause i’m real proud of it!

The idea originated from firstly, the book I had just finished, mentioned previously, written by shute and called On The Beach, it deals with the end of the world and peoples ability to deal with, relish and end their last days on earth. Secondly, on their first EP the guys and girl in Johnny Foreigner have an ace tune called, you guessed it, Suicide Pact, Yeah?

I’ve got a few little drawings that have now become more about the book than anything and they will probably surface once i get my scanner sorted!

oh yeah, and go to the show. they’re good. if they get their gin!

along the lines of being typical…

First off,  i have to get this off my chest. Paulo Nutini is awful, his new song is awful. Someidiot, on some equally idiotic panel was comparing it to early ska bands. Please don’t. You are a dweeb, Paulo Nutini, you are not needed please leave via the nearest exit.

Anyway, whilst spotify is making my working day very very enjoyable, as you can see over at my page it is once more lunch time, and whilst everyone else manages to get all their urgent TO DO lists done i’m sitting here staring at a 505 error. I’m quickly trying to upload some files to a server, WHY DO THEY TAKE THE SERVER FOR MAINTENANCE NOW? especially when they are a UK company, it’d serve them well to pay double time and do it early in the morning or something…

the lack of internet at home has served to prolong my utterly shameless inactivity…  the commute to work however has already afforded me the finishing of two books in 3 weeks. that’s an achievement for me. The books, On The Beach, an awesome romantic portrayal of the end of the world and secondly, by Mick Middles about Factory, the record label, it merely serves to bolster my argument that doing thigs you love should be mandatory for atleast two days of the working week. observe.

anyway, i’m off to try the server again, if it doesn’t work I don’t know what to do.

uh-oh spaghetti-oh

so firstly, i don’t have the internet at home yet due to Virgin being absolute money grabbing liars and signing me into a contract before telling me EXACTLY when we could’ve got it installed, Please, don’t ask me TWO preferred install dates and THEN give me adate, not only 8 days after, but on a weekday, now, what with me selecting two saturday installation days as my preference, do you think that I am free or have an inclination to be arounfd on a tuesday morning, NO! I have a job, that is also a little bit of a mute point when I mention that after booking my installation on the 7/8th of January, they turned around to tell me that I can’t have it installed until the 16th February. Brilliant, whilst that IS my sister’s Birthday, the combination of her living about 250 miles away, the fact she has broadband already and that it’s a pretty shit present (me getting broadband) means that it is of no consolation you absolutely backward, typically british company. Branson. I’m coming for you and your fibre optic broadband…

christ. I also mentioned that I now have a job. A turn up for the books i’d say… That kinda means, coupled with the fact I dont have the internet, that I can’t really show you much of my artwork… well, maybe one I did for a show in clwb with Johnny Foreigner which is hand drawn as i’m going to attempt to push myself in new ways this year…

Coming soon, Caesar’s Rome’s artwork for their album. Hopefully, if Jon and the boys will let me, I’ll be able to give a sneaky peak of atleast some of it on here, my blog.

Secondly, I’ve done a lot of work with BARELY REGAL records… super sound mates o’ mine who are about to start doing VERY good things back in Cardiff. lookout for more work from me, on them.

oh yeah.

Happy New Years!

Better late than never…
